Privacy & Compliance

These PBL units are built to be safe for classroom use by design: the web pages collect nothing.

What we collect

Nothing. There are no accounts, no logins, no analytics, no tracking cookies, and no data sent to any server. Everything runs inside the browser. The only thing stored is your language choice, kept in your own browser's localStorage, which never leaves the device.

The one outside request

Pages load a web font (Google Fonts) for display; this can be removed by self-hosting the font for zero external requests. Every page sets <meta name="referrer" content="no-referrer">.

A note on student work

PBL is collaborative: students discuss, research, and produce a solution. Any student writing, recordings, or presentations they create live outside these pages (on paper or in tools your district already vets). Follow your district's policies for any student-created artifacts and for any outside sources students consult during investigation.

Standards & framing

Standards are aligned to, not reproduced from, the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills for Social Studies (19 TAC Chapter 113). Alignments are a good-faith, paraphrased mapping. Effect sizes cited in the units come from the Visible Learning MetaX synthesis and are used to justify the surface → deep → transfer design; they are not claims about any individual classroom.
