Privacy & Compliance

What we collect

Nothing. There are no accounts, no logins, no analytics, no cookies used for tracking, and no data sent to any server. Everything runs inside the student's browser. Your progress (which locks are open, or a game's high score) lives only in your own browser's localStorage and never leaves the device. The language choice is stored the same way.

The one outside request

Pages load a web font (Google Fonts) for display. This can be removed by self-hosting the font for zero external requests. Every page sets <meta name="referrer" content="no-referrer">.

How this maps to the rules that protect students

• FERPA — no education records are created, stored, or shared.
• COPPA — no personal information is collected from children.
• Texas SCOPE Act & TEC §32.151–32.156 — no data collection, targeted advertising, or profiling of minors.
• GDPR — no personal data processing; nothing to export or erase.
• CIPA — static, self-contained educational content with no user-generated communication.

Accessibility (VPAT-lite)

• Semantic headings, keyboard-operable locks and games, and text alternatives for icon glyphs.
• Color choices aim for sufficient contrast; images carry descriptive alt text and hide gracefully if missing.
• The games honor prefers-reduced-motion and remain playable by keyboard and touch.
• Full right-to-left support for Arabic and Urdu using logical CSS properties.

Standards & framing

Content is aligned to, not reproduced from, the Texas English Language Proficiency Standards (19 TAC §74.4), the TEKS for English Language Arts and Reading (figurative language), the WIDA English Language Development Standards (2020), and the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills for Languages Other Than English / Classical Languages (19 TAC Ch. 114). Alignments are a good-faith, paraphrased mapping; confirm against the official source before adoption. This is not legal advice.
