The Mixed-Up Lunchroom

Logic & observation ยท Grades 3โ€“5

Premise: Four students left their lunch trays behind and they got mixed up. Students match trays to owners using only what the clues actually show โ€” and practice saying "the clue doesn't prove that" instead of guessing.

Students open the clue board, examine the evidence, and solve four locks (a count lock, an evidence lock, a word lock, and an order lock). Each lock reveals a short reasoning explanation when solved. The answer key is not shown on this page.
